Girl, you really are out of practice. This, starting-a-new life bullshit has softened your brain. You ever hear of clues? A lie...your disappearance...those would be pretty good clues...big ones, even to a dumb cop.

So now, you are defending him. Jesus, you are losing it.

Her inner voice was right. She was out of practice, not as sharp...soft in her thinking. She had to be more careful...saying less was better than more, when telling a lie. Her whole life was a lie. She should know better.
